25/6/21 - Weeknote
I’ve been reading my dear chum Gaz’s weeknotes for some time now, so thought I’d give it a go. Seems like a nice way of keeping track of stuff and a good way to close out the week. I used do quite a lot of blog writing but fell off the wagon for lots of reasons. Let’s hope this sticks!

A short working week this week following a long weekend celebrating the wedding of an old friend. Sarah and I got to spend four days together with no kids and no other responsibilities other than spending time together. Its the first time we’ve done that for almost 7 years and it was sheer bliss.
A few weeks ago we begun the launch of a new vision, mission and values. We’ve introduced the project to managers and now we’re planning the roll out to everyone else.
Its a huge project and involves lots of change, and change is often super challenging and quite scary. I’ve been really pleased with how my team continue to navigate this and pull together a really big project alongside defining what we’re trying to achieve.
Was particularly tickled by some of these horrendous errors on IKEA POS after a visit to Lakeside to continue to buy items for our kitchen rebuild.

Lots of reminders this week that (only) working remotely is very challenging. This period feels much tougher than last Spring/Summer.
Feel like lots of progress was made this week in getting to the bottom of some thorny issues about how we plan and deliver work.
I’m excited about putting some new rituals in place for my team that mean we get to enjoy spending time together and building relationships whilst benefitting from working remotely.
…and finally
Arthur’s just told me he’s been given Pupil of the Week ❤️
